Microsoft is teaming up with Ericsson to integrate the Microsoft Connected Vehicle Platform with the Ericsson Connected Vehicle Cloud, in a bid to offer over-the-air software updates, improve safety and boost fleet management.

Currently, the Ericsson Connected Vehicle Cloud connects four million vehicles spanning 180 countries, accounting for roughly 10 percent of the global connected vehicle market. For its part, Microsoft's Connected Vehicle Platform provides a platform for third-party organizations to build infotainment, telematics and autonomous driving systems.
