Microsoft 2025 Q1 Earnings: Cloud revenue and earnings climb

Microsoft reported Q1 2025 financial performance today with earnings per share of $3.30 on revenue of $65.6 billion, exceeding analyst estimates.

In announcing the results, CEO Satya Nadella highlighted “AI-driven transformation” and the company’s intention to drive market growth and financial performance with its AI tech.

Microsoft CFO Amy Hood noted total Microsoft Cloud revenue of $38.9 billion, up 22%. Business highlights announced by the company include:

  • Azure and other cloud services revenue growth of 33%
  • Dynamics products and cloud services revenue increased 14% driven by Dynamics 365 revenue growth of 18%
  • Microsoft 365 Commercial revenue growth of 13%

Last quarter, Microsoft reported Q4 2024 financial performance $2.95 EPS and revenue of $64.7 billion, slightly exceeding analyst estimates.

Q1 of 2024 saw Microsoft exceed estimates on EPS of $2.99 and $56.5 billion. Dynamics products and services were up 22% at that time, with Dynamics 365 revenue was up 28%.
