KPMG to make major cloud investments, expand Microsoft alliance

KPMG and Microsoft brokered a new five-year agreement to focus on digital transformation for mutual customers and KPMG firms. As part of the agreement, KPMG will adopt Microsoft 365 and Teams, while using Azure AI capabilities. The two enterprises are forming and jointly-funding an incubator to develop new intelligent business apps and apply Azure to healthcare and life sciences. KPMG's Netherlands division has developed a set of Azure-based risk management, compliance and audit tools. Meanwhile, the company as a whole launched its KPMG Clara smart audit system in 2017, shifting its auditing workflows to the cloud and using Azure AI integrated with Teams.
