January release of Lifecycle Services for Microsoft Dynamics AX adds Beta feature management

The January 2015 release of Microsoft Dynamics Lifecycle Services (LCS) is out now. It adds several new features to the cloud service as well as a new "Beta feature management" capability that will allow users to "see and pla with available betas and previews."

In a blog post announcing the new release, Microsoft's Jared Lambert explained that the new release includes a preview of a feature that allows for the re-ordering of methodology tasks.

Other new features include:

  • Infrastructure estimator now estimates D-series Azure resources and provides warnings and statistics when implementations are too large to size.
  • Issue Search now lists Management Reporter 2012 and Connector for Microsoft Dynamics issues.
  • Cloud powered support now automatically installs AX 2012 R3 application hotfixes for environments that require them.
  • System Diagnostics has added 24 new rules around SQL and database settings.

The previous release in December 2014 updated the service for AX 2012 R3 CU8 and 8 new system diagnostics, as well as updates to the profiles of cloud-hosted AX environments that are supported.
