Imprivata integrates with Microsoft Azure Active Directory

Imprivata, a healthcare IT security provider based in Lexington, Massachusetts announced Imprivata Identity Governance for identity and access management with Azure Active Directory.

Positioned for joint customers of Microsoft and Imprivata, the new system offers access controls access on-prem and cloud-based instances of Active Directory.

It isn't the only integration between the two company's systems.

Customers also have access to Healthcare Seamless SSO, with badges for password-less app access and works with other Imprivata workflows. Imprivata touted the compliance of its workflows, which are intended to support electronic prescribing for controlled substances in accordance with existing DEA and HIPAA regulations, as well as a growing slate of state and federal regulations in the US.

"With our collaboration with Imprivata, especially with the deep integrations Imprivata has with EHRs, we can now offer our healthcare customers an end-to-end solution that extends Microsoft’s hybrid identity and access management platform with healthcare-focused role-based access controls, automated provisioning and de-provisioning, streamlined auditing processes, and analytics that enable faster evaluation and remediation," stated Microsoft CVP of program management, Alex Simons.

"This not only enables a smooth transition as our joint customers progress in their digital transformations, but also advances security by supporting compliance with government regulations and streamlining the auditing process," added Imprivata CTO, Wes Wright, in a statement.
