GPUG Summit 2018 Preview: Microsoft Dynamics GP users anticipate new release, track updates

Bob McAdam, vice president and general manager of GPUG at Dynamic Communities and Rick Zich, division operations president at Cooper DIY and GPUG advisory board chairperson, spoke with MSDW about what attendees should expect at the GPUG Summit in Phoenix, from October 15-18th. (Note: MSDW is a media sponsor at the Summit 2018 user group events.)

McAdam has worked with GP (and Great Plains before it) for nearly two decades in a range of capacities, while Zich's company uses GP 2018 today to run operations related to their Mr. Beer beer kit brand.

MSDW: Could you talk a little bit about the upcoming event?

McAdam: This is our 12th annual GPUG Summit. It's hard to believe we've done it 11 times before. This one will be similar in that we'll have roughly 200 sessions over three days. It really is a "drinking from the firehose" scenario if you haven't been here before.

There will be the many of the same tracks [as past years], but we're adding three more this year because the demand in the community is there and we want to meet it. For instance, manufacturing has its own track. It was part of the industry track, which now has more room for distribution.
