Event Preview: DynamicsCon Virtual 2023 ramps up with session voting, Microsoft participation
DynamicsCon Virtual will return on March 15 and 16 for a fifth edition, bringing back distinct features and introducing an expanded program focused on customer success.
DynamicsCon Virtual is known for its open voting process to determine the bulk of the session lineup. Voting has just started for the event and will run through 10pm ET on January 27. Anyone can register for the event and can then cast votes for eight sessions they want to see presented. The event has had 315 session submissions across the tracks, with no more than three submissions per presenter.
The March event will introduce a new Day 2 experience featuring a collaboration between event organizers Dynamics User Group (DUG) and Microsoft. Microsoft Customer Success Day, as it will be called, on the second day of the event will feature presentations from Microsoft team members, Microsoft MVPs, and community experts, with a focus on "implementation, optimization and expansion, user adoption, and migration," according to the event team.
With a dedicated second day of content, Microsoft aims to provide a differentiated experience, says Microsoft's Vish Walia. "Our customers have been craving information regarding business value realization, change management, and adoption," he says. "It was validated by the short survey we ran with our Dynamics customers…which provides a powerful message that our customers are seeking assistance from Microsoft in the key areas including but not limited to training resources, adoption best practices, and Implementation services."
More details on Customer Success Day will be shared as the event approaches, but Walia added that the goal will be to provide perspective on value rather than software capabilities.
"Microsoft is committed to provide customer success to all our customers at scale. Typically, most of our events focus on products functions and features. So, we wanted to organize a customer success centric event that exclusively focus on business value realization, adoption and change management. Customer Success Day is the solution for above key requirements," he said.
While the event team expects an active voting period, those results are not the only input into session selection. DynamicsCon also commits to reserving 40 percent of the session lineup for premiering content and 10 percent for rookie speakers, though in past events they have usually hit these thresholds organically. Sessions are divided across five tracks for Dynamics 365 F&O, Business Central, Customer Engagement, Dynamics GP, and Power Platform.
