ERP customers prioritize efficiency & performance, not just hot trends, Mint Jutras study finds

Are enterprise software trends aligning with the factors that really impact the performance of ERP solutions? The Mint Jutras 2015 Enterprise Solution Study offers a new look at the factors that companies identify as critical and the benchmarks that define top performance.

Mint Jutras measures results against a segment of "world class" businesses - a composite metric that covers the top 20% of survey respondents and includes factors like actual measured results since an implementation, performance of selected KPIs, and progress made in achieving company-specific goals.

If you want to be able to compare your company's performance to the Mint Jutras benchmark, you first need to be measuring your own results. Obvious, perhaps, but still not something enough companies do, writes report author and company founder Cindy Jutras.

What's hot and what matters?

As always, there are the hot features in ERP, and then there are the features that matter to buyers. Good ERP solutions are most likely offering customers something from both troughs. The study found that the top selection criteria priorities for ERP selection were fit and function, completeness of the solution for all enterprise functions, and the quality of built-in reporting and analytics. In other words, features and capabilities dominate the list. At the very bottom of the stack-ranked list was social capabilities, with mobile access and rapid deployment ranking just above it.
