DynamicsCon: Session voting for September 2021 event is open now and it features new twists
Note: MSDW is a media sponsor of DynamicsCon's September 2021 community event.
DynamicsCon has opened voting for sessions at their next online event, running from September 20 to 23. The event will continues its tradition of public voting to select the session lineup, and for this event the organizing team has made some adjustments to encourage broader community participation and more new voices.
The September event received 286 session submissions from 215 speakers across the five tracks: Dynamics GP, D365 Customer Engagement, D365 Finance & Operations, D365 Business Central, and Power Platform.
This third DynamicsCon event will get some refinements to the session submission and selection rules. For example, attendees will get 12 votes for sessions, down from 20 at the past events, to align with the number of sessions in each track. And partner organizations will be limited to one speaker per track, a move that aims to prevent any one firm from overwhelming the agenda. And partner presenters were limited to two session submissions.
Another important voting change will be the use of blind voting. In past events the website displayed a running vote tally for each session. This year, the vote tallies will be hidden until the last three days of voting. The team hopes this will give all sessions more of a chance to accumulate votes and avoid the feeling that voting is a popularity contest. The public vote tallies will be shown in the last three days in hopes of giving last-minute encouragement to registrants who haven't yet cast their ballots.
