Dynamics AX Outsourcing in China: Executives Discuss Opportunities and Risks In New Webcast

Winston-Salem, NC - Despite the tremendous growth in IT enterprise in China in recent years, Dynamics AX is still a very new competency. In the U.S., companies seasoned in IT outsourcing have started looking past India for outsourcing options. One of those is ISV Sunrise Technologies, which has begun to seriously explore opportunities in China's quickly growing IT base.

"We felt like it was worth it for us to get a ground floor relationship off the ground in China," said John Pence, President and Founder of Sunrise, speaking during a webcast earlier in May sponsored by Sunrise and Huamei Soft, an AX early adopter in Xi'an, China. Huamei Soft was represented by executive Heather Ma. While he had been happy with the price point of Sunrise's previous outsourcing endeavors, Pence looked to Xi'an and the executive team of Huamei Soft, comprised of former IBM China executives, to bring Sunrise an outsourced development team that was economical, transparent, and offered a higher level of analytical collaboration to go along with the development work.

With a transition that took only two months, compared to a planned six, the Sunrise-Huamei Soft relationship has grown quickly since its inception in August of 2007. It now includes ISV application development, as well as AX implementation services and prototyping for the Sunrise sales teams.

The relationship has not been without its challenges. Pence cited cultural differences as one of the main issues. To keep all sides comfortable, written communication has become the primary communication medium. Both IM and email are the acceptable methods preferred by both sides above phone conversations across a twelve or thirteen-hour time difference.
