Dynamics 365 for Marketing adds new languages and regions

Microsoft has announced updates to Dynamics 365 for Marketing, making it available in all the languages and regions supported by Dynamics 365. At the same time, the pricing model has changed, which Microsoft says will reduce licensing fees for many organizations.

When it was first released, D365 for Marketing had licensing based on the number of contacts in the customer's D365 database. However, Microsoft received feedback from customers that in many cases there were unused contacts in their databases, never intended for marketing campaigns. As a result, many potential users were being overcharged. In the updated version, only contacts engaged for a marketing purpose will be counted toward the licensing total, such as sending out forms, emails or LinkedIn integrations. Now, customers will purchase a quota of marketing contacts.

In contrast to other D365 apps, no additional license is required for existing users to add Marketing because the app isn't priced based on the number of users. Additionally, customers can ask Microsoft for free licenses only for Marketing to give out to non-D365 users. Purchasing a minimal number of seat licenses for D365 Customer Engagement may grant customers a free Marketing license for one or more D365 instances. These free Marketing licenses come with a limited quota of marketing contacts, which can be increased by buying additional an additional quota.

Prior to October 2018, seven major languages other than English, including Spanish, French, German and Japanese were supported for D365 Marketing. Now, over 30 new languages and language varieties are supported, such as Arabic, regional versions of Chinese, Russian and Portuguese.
