Reporting and Analytics in Dynamics AX 2009: Ben Riga's Deep Shift recently interviewed Manoj Nuthakki, a Dynamics team member, and discussed how users can take full advantage of SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) in the newly released Dynamics AX 2009. In the interview, posted on Channel9, Nuthakki illustrates how reports and charts are built in Visual Studio while pulling metadata and data directly out of AX. Additional processes explained  include how reports are easily put into the AX 2009 rich desktop client and the enterprise portal web client.

The Next Dynamics CRM: An Updated Statement of Direction: Menno te Koppele, a CRM Freak, describes key updates to the latest Microsoft Dynamics CRM Statement of Direction (SOD), released earlier this month. The new SOD outlines the future direction of Microsoft Dynamics CRM "v.Next"-the  next major CRM release due for release in late 2009 or 2010. Koppele points out two interesting revisions:

  • Due to the high interest in the new CRM accelerators, the SOD has been revised to provide more details and/or screenshots for each accelerator

  • The prior version of this document contained some inaccurate information about release dates. Please discard any previous version of this document.
