Azure Updates: Responsible AI; Quantum; VM Restore Points

Microsoft CVP Alysa Taylor highlighted the company's recent Put Responsible AI into Practice event. Microsoft is implementing AI standards, developed in conjunction with Boston Consulting Group and shared 10 principles for customers to implement—particularly because many overestimate their AI maturity. As part of the initiative, Microsoft also launched the Responsible AI dashboard, and shared the examples of Novartis and Phillips which are using the technology.

Along with Microsoft's announcement of an Azure Quantum partnership with KPMG, principal program manager Fabrice Frachon discussed the challenging code maintenance and system misalignments that remain possible as quantum computing takes off.

The Azure team announced the December general availability of Machine Learning. The Monitor containers insights preview version of Azure Red Hat OpenShift v4.x is set to be retired May 31, 2022. Defender is adding public preview features like ways to prioritize security actions based on data sensitivity with Azure Purview and snapshot exports for recommendations and security findings.
