Azure Updates: HoloLens 2; Data integration; Application Insight; Security Center

Uptake of HoloLens 2 has continued in recent months, according to principal program manager Charlie Han. The Industrial Edition of the device achieved clean room compatibility and UL Class I, Division 2 intrinsic safety ratings. Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust in the UK is using it to reduce exposure to Covid-19 patients by up to 83 percent, while Lockheed Martin is deploying HoloLens 2 to construct the Orion spacecraft and Mercedes-Benz USA is trying it out to support service technicians.

Daniel Yu, director of Azure Cloud Scale Analytics touted the Azure and Qlik data integration. The offering combines Azure Synapse, Power BI, and the Qlik Data Integration for change data capture and supply chain analytics, with Qlik Compose to transform SAP processes into a form Synapse can make sense of.

In geographic updates, Application Insight is available in Japan West and UAE Central, while Log Analytics is on offer in Australia Central 2. Among general announcements, the IT Service Management Connector is certified with a ServiceNow Paris version and Azure Monitor Agent is on offer for Linux distros and five new regions.
