A new year is here and with it the Azure community is gearing up for a fresh wave of updates to Microsoft Azure. Microsoft closed out 2023 with a string of final announcements, but so far has hardly started on its 2024 announcement priorities.

Microsoft CVP Jessica Hawk closed out 2023 by taking a look at some of the newest Azure data and AI developments. In November, Microsoft issued Models as a Service, marking an expansion of Azure OpenAI Service. Even these capabilities received an expansion, with models support for Llama 2 so that developers can connect large language model tools like Prompt Flow or access the Azure Model Catalog. Microsoft is also offering special offers for Cosmos DB to support LLMs, joint innovation with Databricks, and Arc for SQL Server.
