Azure Review: Rising demand for cloud skills; New partnerships; Disaster recovery; SQL updates; New Java and Azure Portal options

Employers are scrambling to find people with cloud skills, Indeed reports. Job listings with Azure have increased 165.9 percent in the last three years and Kubernetes has seen the most dramatic growth, rising 173 percent from 2017. Business Insider reports that related terms for job seekers with Azure cloud skills include cloud architect, cloud security, cloud infrastructure and cloud engineer.

Mastercard and Microsoft partnered to create a device-based digital identity system to control and share identity data on devices they use daily. Codero Holdings, a managed hosting provider has become a Datacenter Optimization Partner for Microsoft to oversee Azure SQL Database Managed instances. Denodo, based in Singapore, has announced the free Test Drive environment for Azure, giving customers an opportunity to evaluate their tools for integrating large volumes of data. In Africa, Vodacom Business Nigeria entered a strategic partnership with Microsoft to use Azure and deploy its customers to the cloud.
