How to build AI-generated charts and PDFs in Dynamics 365 using a PCF control

Writing on the Inogic blog, Sam Kumar stated that teams spend a lot of time working inside D365 CRM records, such as accounts, opportunities, and cases.

However, he noted that getting the right information while staying in those records hasn't always been easy. For example, he wrote that a sales manager who wants to view an account's sales pipeline often has to leave the record and open a dashboard or Power BI.

He added that creating a sales proposal for an opportunity also usually happens outside the system, which means users often have to leave the record they're working in to find information or complete tasks.

Kumar wrote that this led his team to look for a better solution, which is when they found the Code Interpreter PCF control. He explained that the idea was straightforward: let the form create content automatically in real time.

According to Kumar, instead of showing a static chart or using a fixed template, it pulls live CRM data, analyzes it, and displays the results directly in the form. He stated that the team tested this in two use cases: an interactive opportunity pipeline chart on the account form and an AI-generated sales proposal PDF on the opportunity form.

Kumar then explained both examples step by step.
