Dynamics GP 2025 year-end update: What you need to know

Also on the Paradigm Technology Consultancy blog, Jason Pintinalli wrote that as 2025 comes to an end, organizations using Dynamics GP should pay attention to the latest "year-end" update and understand how it affects compliance, financial reporting, and long-term ERP planning. 

He noted that this year's update is much simpler than some in the past as there are no major IRS form changes and no big regulatory shifts.

Pintinalli stated that though that may seem uneventful, there are still important fixes and improvements. He pointed out that updates to asset depreciation and payroll reporting, in particular, can make year-end closing easier and help prevent problems that have caused issues in the past.

First, Pintinalli discussed what hasn't changed with this update:

• No changes to payables 1099 processing.
• No changes to payroll W-2 or W-3 forms.
• No updates to ACA 1095-C reporting.
• No changes to electronic W-2 filing processes.
• No changes to Payroll Secure Act rules or W-2 overtime premium rules.
• No adjustments tied to newly enacted legislation called "OBBB" for 2025 — the IRS has confirmed that OBBB-related changes will start only in 2026

He then provided information about what the update does include.
