Writing on the Evolution Business Systems blog, Emily Dlugosz stated that updating your financial reports to include a new general ledger budget is a clear, step-by-step process that helps you understand where your business stands and where it’s headed.  

She stated that finance teams use account schedules to analyze the numbers in their general ledger accounts and to compare actual general ledger entries with budgeted entries.  

Dlugosz added that you can also break this down further using dimensions, which help you see results by department, project, region, or any other part of your business you want to track. In her blog post, Dlugosz explained how to update financial reports with a new budget.
