Understanding purchase & trade agreements in D365 – Part 2

On the CloudFronts blog, Prafull Mandlik wrote that in the first part of this post, he discussed an overview of purchase and trade agreements in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations as well as how to set up different types of purchase agreements. This part focused on setting up two specific types of purchase agreements: product category value commitment and value commitment.

He noted that in D365 F&O, you can create purchase agreements to lock in buying a set number of items from a vendor over a certain period. He stated that trade agreements let you create short-term discounts for specific vendors or vendor groups.

Mandlik explained that there are different types of purchase agreements in D365, categorized by commitment:

  • Product quantity commitment
  • Product value commitment
  • Product category value commitment
  • Value commitment

He also listed the different types of trade agreements. Mandlik then explained how to set up purchase agreements for the product category value commitment and the value commitment for the vendor.
