Microsoft Fabric’s June 2024 Update: FabCon Europe announced; Visual Calculations update; Copilot Expansion

This month’s Microsoft Fabric update is short and sweet, but it packs a pretty good punch. So let’s jump right into four of the most exciting updates we pulled out that have the potential to change how you use Fabric. 

FabCon Is Coming to Europe

If any Fabric users didn’t make it to the Microsoft Fabric Community Conference (FabCon) in Las Vegas a few months ago, we have some exciting news: FabCon is coming to Stockholm, Sweden, from September 25-27!

FabCon Europe is an educational event tailored specifically for enthusiasts of Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, SQL, and AI. Participants will have access to speaker sessions, networking opportunities, and hands-on workshops. Plus, many Fabric partner booths will be available for attendees to explore and make some connections.

If FabCon Vegas is any indicator, this won't be your average tech event. It's an interactive experience perfect for anyone involved in Fabric development, whether you're a data engineer, data analyst, or an end user.

Update to Visual Calculations

This month, Microsoft made a significant enhancement to the Power BI feature known as visual calculations. Before this feature, creating complex DAX measures was necessary to create the desired visualizations.
