Four powerful features to extend the use of Dynamics GP

An author writing on the Dynavistics blog noted that there are several lesser known features in Dynamics GP that can help businesses extend their use, cut costs, and improve productivity. In the blog post, the author took a closer look at some of these little-known Dynamics GP features.

For example, the SafePay module lets users print checks that are only payable to the intended recipients. Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) for Payables allows users to set up their vendors for electronic payments and easily send payments to them without having to use paper checks. These and the other features discussed allow businesses to boost their bottom lines and be more successful, the author stated.

Modern Authentication and upgrading to Dynamics GP 18.5

Writing on the Dynamics GP Support and Services Blog, Lucas Miller stated that the team has been tracking some reports of customers running into issues e-mailing after performing an upgrade to the Fall 2022 release of Dynamics GP (18.5).

He noted that if you've just upgraded to Dynamics GP 18.5 and you can no longer authenticate or send e-mail you may need to upgrade your app registration in Azure Active Directory. He stated that the team found that a change in either Dynamics GP or Azure AD was requiring additional rights under API permissions in the app registration in the Azure Portal.

He pointed out that the team has always directed users to add the Mail.Send delegated MSGraph permission when you set up the app registration.

Well, when a global administrator first authenticates from the Company E-mail Settings window in Dynamics GP 18.5, including granting the requested permissions it will now automatically assign an additional MSGraph permission called Mail.ReadWrite under the "Other permissions granted for %domain%" section of that window.
