Mining giant BHP works around a mine site lockdown with Azure IoT and Dynamics 365 mixed reality

Covid-19 has upended industries around the world, and mining giant BHP was of the companies to feel the disruption. The company has struggled to send people to and from its remote iron mine in Pilbara, Western Australia, they reported in a new blog post with Microsoft. As a workaround, the company has developed new solutions based on Azure IoT services, HoloLens 2, and Dynamics 365 Remote Assist. Experienced front-line miners can coach others, accessing documents and schematics on the go or annotating real-world objects.
