How to clear usage data or personalizations in Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations
On the Stoneridge Software blog, Andy Lawton-Thesing stated that a user recently reported an error when she was navigating to the all vendors list page within Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations.
But Lawton-Thesing wasn't able to reproduce the error in any related environment or with any other user. So the first thing he did was clear the usage data, but he wasn't able to solve her problem.
In his blog post, Lawton-Thesing explained what exactly usage data is and then noted that the concept of clearing usage data has changed a bit from Dynamics AX 2012 to D365FO.
You can find out about the change and how to clear usage data or personalizations in D365FO here.
Detailed review of cost to complete methods in projects
On his D365Tour blog, Yohann Rolland stated that in a previous post he explained the cost to complete methods starting with the cost template. He built off those themes in his latest post, sharing some additional methods.
He first talked about what to do if you wanted to apply the cost-to-complete methods that ran previously. Rolland noted that you would only use this method if you had already run an estimation for the project.
Next, Rolland focused on methods that don't need any forecasts. For example:
Total cost – actual: this is a manual method, that can be used directly when running an estimation or through cost template (with Quantity or Cost Amount completion based on value and the Total cost – actual value setup on lines).
You can read the rest of Rolland's post here.
