Why you should set automatic cost adjustment to 'never' in Dynamics 365 Business Central

On his Confessions of a Dynamics NAV Consultant blog, Alex Chow explained that there are a number of opinions about how to set up their inventory so costing is done right.

Chow stated that one of the issues that generates some intense discussion is how the automatic cost adjustment on the inventory setup should be done.

In his blog post, Chow offers arguments for and against setting the automatic cost adjustment to "always."

For users running micro businesses with few inventory transactions, it always makes sense to modify the automatic cost adjustment setting to always. However, if you're a manufacturer or a high transaction volume distributor, doing so will harm your environment.
