Azure Review: Service interruption; Fighting spam; Bioreactors; Azure Stack in Mexico; Australia service launch

In the Azure channel, Tech Mahindra and Microsoft have partnered to create a distributed ledger technology to combat unsolicited commercial communications, better known as spam calls. Through the new system, telemarketers will be able to register complaints, track permissions and register users through blockchain. Nvidia GPU Cloud, which launched in early 2017 is now available to Azure users together with Azure CycleCloud, which was announced the same day by Microsoft. In India, UberCloud deployed a container on Azure resources in Singapore for ANSYS, an Indian chemical company. The Azure-hosted container aims at supporting ANSYS computational fluid dynamics for bioreactors to reduce costs.  

On September 4, Microsoft experienced service interruptions due to a power surge related to a lightning strike near San Antonio. Cooling equipment at a nearby Azure data center shutdown, causing a local outage and bringing down Office 365 due to the interruption in Azure Active Directory.
