Microsoft Dynamics Profile: Nishant Rana goes from 'Man of the Series' in cricket to MVP

Every weekend for the nearly seven years he worked for Microsoft Global Services in Hyderabad, India, Nishant Rana and his colleagues played cricket on the lush green grounds surrounding the campus.

"I still cherish our CRM Service Unit winning one cricket tournament, and me being awarded Man of the Series in it," he says.

In November, Rana, who now works as technology lead at Sable37 (a DXC Technology Company), in Dubai, received an award of a different sort--he was named a Microsoft Dynamics MVP.

"My responsibilities at Sable37 involve working closely with the customers, analyzing requirements, designing, and implementing solutions, along with managing and supporting the team to learn and grow on the technical front," he says. "I am thoroughly enjoying every bit of it."

Because he wasn't eligible to receive the MVP award as a Microsoft employee, Rana says he was, "really ecstatic," to be named an MVP within a few months of leaving Microsoft.

"Joining Microsoft and then becoming an MVP are the two things that I will always cherish," he says. "Becoming an MVP provides multiple benefits, not only to the individual but also to the organization. First and foremost, you get the opportunity to connect with fellow MVPs and the product team and you get free subscriptions to various Microsoft products and access to tools and products developed by Microsoft partners."

A dream come true

Rana joined Sable37 in May, 2017 as a Microsoft Dynamics CRM senior specialist. But from September, 2010 until January, 2017, he worked as a consultant at Microsoft.
