Summit EMEA Preview: Who wants to talk about moving Microsoft Dynamics AX to the cloud?

Tommy Skaue, a Microsoft MVP, blogger, podcaster, and Dynamics AX/365 consultant based in Norway, will be returning to Summit EMEA this year, April 24 to 26 in Dublin, and he will be ready to talk to AX customers about the Microsoft technology almost certain to be in their future. Skaue will be presenting at the conference on Power BI and AX data migration, but he also expects the larger theme of cloud migration to Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations (D365FO) to drive much of the conversation among users, some of whom remain concerned about their future options.

Skaue is currently developing a Power BI presentation for the event, which will sit alongside a much deeper Power BI presence at the Convention Centre Dublin. "There is also a dedicated Power BI event next door in the same building, so there will be some tremendous resources there," he says. For himself, Skaue says he is going to focus on how Power BI can be made relevant for D365 for Finance and Operations.

"There are some things specific to that realm and it can be a little bit of a hurdle to get going on the technical side," Skaue says. "Sometimes, you can have people who are familiar with Power BI and using the product and platform to build reports - and they want to do the same things with D365 and get stuck because they don't know how to approach it," he says.
