One year later: Verifone expands Payment-as-a-Service availability for Microsoft Dynamics AX, Dynamics 365

It has now been a year since Verifone announced its partnership with Microsoft to provide comprehensive EMV-ready Payment-as-a-Service solutions certified for Microsoft Dynamics AX for Retail and Commerce.

That announcement came at the NRF Big Show 2016; and at the 2017 show, Verifone announced expansion of its partnership with Microsoft to provide Payment-as-a-Service for Dynamics 365 clients in Canada, thus beginning an international expansion of its Verifone Point offering in the Dynamics space.

"We now have a connector that allows interface with both [Dynamics AX and 365], and that allows an integrated architecture that leverages our gateway for an omnichannel solution," says Verifone North America President Joe Mach.

Verifone Point bundles payment hardware, software and support services into a single integrated solution, enabling merchants to centrally manage their entire payment system.

Among the value propositions:

  • Simplified EMV certification. The solution is built on Verifone's Secure Commerce Architecture (SCA), which connects payment terminals directly to the Verifone Payment Gateway, which prevents sensitive payment data from entering POS software. This enables merchants to update their devices to support PCI changes and card brand-specific EMV requirements, without having to re-certify each time software changes occur.
  • Centralized payment system management. As Ashvin Mathew, general manager of, Microsoft Dynamics described in a statement, "Ongoing changes in standards and requirements have made managing payments increasingly more complex," and Microsoft expects the partnership to simplify that ...
