Dan Brown departs Microsoft Dynamics AX R&D team, Sri Srinivasan continues to lead as GM
Dan Brown has reportedly left his role as general manager of R&D for Microsoft Dynamics AX. Multiple sources have confirmed Brown’s move away from the AX, the product that will soon be known as Dynamics 365 Enterprise Operations.
General manager Sri Srinivasan, who was already a leader of Dynamics ERP R&D with Brown, is now said to be alone in leading AX R&D with the role of GM for Dynamics 365 for Operations. He is now a peer of Microsoft Technical Fellow Mike Ehrenberg, and they both report to Corporate Vice President James Phillips.
A Microsoft spokesperson declined to comment on whether the change in roles had taken place.
Srinivasan’s continued leadership was met with positive reactions from members of the AX community who were already familiar with the change. Srinivasan is a longtime AX R&D leader who most recently has been visible in supporting the development of the Common Data Model technology that is expected to be key to the future of Dynamics 365, PowerApps, and Microsoft Flow.
As the new AX reached its initial release, Srinivasan was one of the key public faces of the product, speaking at a range of conferences, giving interviews, and participating in online discussions.
