CEO Satya Nadella to headline Convergence 2015 as Microsoft ramps up Dynamics event's business focus, separates more tech content
Microsoft's approach to Dynamics ERP and CRM conferences will evolve in 2015, with two recent changes indicating new segmentation of the audience and a new vote of confidence in the business.
The most recent announcement, made last week by Microsoft Business Solutions (MBS) executive vice president Kirill Tatarinov, was that Convergence 2015 US will feature Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella as the headliner. Microsoft hasn't sent its CEO to a Convergence event since Steve Ballmer's keynote in 2012. The move should be welcome news to those in the community still looking for confirmation of the new CEO's continued support for the Dynamics product line.
The more general positioning of Convergence will also evolve in 2015. It is now referred to as the "Microsoft Business Conference" where "leaders gather to explore, share and experience business solutions". MBS marketing vice president Wayne Morris offered insight into this change in November when he told MSDynamicsWorld.com that his team wants to make Convergence "a Microsoft event for business people looking for business solutions and outcomes" that includes executives from other products and divisions of the company.
