Microsoft Dynamics GP MVPs reflect on Convergence 2014 and the road to GP 2015

During the whirlwind that was Convergence 2014, we were lucky enough to sit down with some of our favorite Dynamics GP MVPs for a few minutes in the expo hall as the event began to wind down. The group included Belinda Allen, Frank Hamelly, Mark Polino, and Mariano Gomez.

A few of the highlights from this group of Microsoft MVPs: they're excited about the technology that's going into the next release, Dynamics GP 2015; business intelligence (BI) continues to play a major role in selling ERP; and there is still plenty of room for innovation by Microsoft and its channel when it comes to delivering new solutions based on Dynamics GP (but not limited to the traditional interface).  Thanks to all of them for taking the time to speak with us.

MSDW: How has the event gone for you this week?

Belinda: This is like Belinda's BI Week. Everything I've done is BI related and it's amazing.

I've been hearing that partners are finding it helpful to lead with BI when talking to prospects. Do you see that?

All: Yes.

Belinda: I think people are becoming more and more aware of the accessibility of data.

Mark: I think there are cases where VARs get burned by a CEO that picked the [ERP solution] with the shiny dashboard even though it doesn't have the functionality they need.

Frank: Well, at the end of the day, what is an ERP ...
