GP Technical Airlift 2013 Day One: Roadmap Refresh

Microsoft Dynamics GP Roadmap

With 350 Microsoft Dynamics GP professionals in attendance, the 2013 Technical Airlift kicked off today with an update on the GP roadmap and some hints at key focus areas in 2014 and beyond.

The roadmap calls for another service pack update in the first half of 2014 that will include a range of new features in areas including requisitions, workflow, identity management, and a new procurement app. The next major release, GP "Next", is due in 2015 or beyond.

Here was GP MVP Mariano Gomez's early reaction to the roadmap plans:

"To deliver the 'next generation' of products you have to imagine there will be a 'next generation' of tools. What will happen with Dexterity? What will happen with Visual Studio Tools and, of course, Silverlight development? As GP expands more into a service model, and away (in some sense) from its Client/Server roots how will the development tools be enhanced?"
