MVP Buzz: New and returning Microsoft Dynamics professionals recognized in July 2013 awards

It's the beginning of a new quarter, and for ambitious Microsoft professionals, that means another shot at gaining or retaining MVP status. Since Microsoft's MVP program decided to focus on "privacy" and stopped revealing MVP award winners, the news has flowed piecemeal with the latest round of awards. One source that has helped - the MVP program's own Twitter feed, which called out hundreds of MVPs who won awards (presumably only those who have signed off on their privacy rights).

One of the renewed MVPs, Gustaf Westerlund, shared his renewal story, which painted a vivid picture of just how mysterious and nerve-wracking the award process can be.

"For those of you not very familiar with the process, if you are awarded, you are sent a letter, however, if you are not renewed, you will be sent nothing. No "you-will-not-be-an-MVP-any-more-email" or similar. You will just not get anything. On top of this, the MVP Award emails are notorious for getting stuck in spam filters, so you had better keep checking there too."

Gustaf, CEO at CRM-konsulterna AB, did eventually piece together that his renewal had come through by checking out the MVP program's web site. And he soon received the email confirmation he had been waiting for.
