MVP Buzz: Microsoft Won't Name Microsoft Dynamics MVPs for April 2013, Citing Privacy
Each quarter Microsoft updates its MVP rolls by adding new MVPs, as well as renewing and "not-renewing" those in the program for the past year. MVP status is a big deal; of the many tens of thousands of Microsoft professionals in the world, only a tiny fraction are ever recognized with the award, which requires a range of accomplishments including community participation, demonstrated expertise, and a strong level of community support for your efforts.
We always enjoy noting the quarterly MVP announcements for Microsoft Dynamics AX, GP, NAV, and CRM, and we've been doing so on a regular basis for the last couple years. For example, here are our announcements from January 2013, October 2012, July 2012, April 2012, and January 2012.
Microsoft has assisted us in the past by tallying up the new and renewed Dynamics MVPs. But this time around, they responded to our request by saying they will no longer publicize the new and renewed MVP awards. Here's the actual response we got:
"The team has changed their policy and many of the MVPs have chosen to keep the announcement private. Based on the new policy, we can only share the names on the MVP site."
Of course the MVP program is not private, it is fully public with a redesigned web site profiling current members (we're told MVPs can opt not to post a profile on the site, ...
