nChannel and ZoopShop Partner on nShop for Cloud-based Social Selling

nChannel Inc. and ZoopShop Inc. have teamed up to offer a new cloud-based storefront publishing platform.

Dubbed nShop, the platform lets customers post individual items for sale to a retailer's social communities such as Facebook and Twitter with integrated inventory synchronization and shopping cart capabilities, according to company officials. 

ZoopShop and nChannel will launch nShop at Microsoft Convergence 2013 where companies can sign up for free beta accounts, officials said.

Powered by nChannel, nShop, will enable companies to use their existing ecommerce, point of sale or business systems to syndicate items to the ZoopShop platform, officials said. As customers place orders on ZoopShop or through a social network, orders will be collected in users' systems of choice.

"In addition to driving customer traffic to a storefront, retailers will place storefronts wherever they have customer traffic," said Lester Chee, CEO of ZoopShop, in a statement. "We believe one of the most attractive features of this model is the multiplier effect will see from social media traffic."

Chee said the companies that have spent a lot of time attracting followers can now target immediate sales opportunities to them.

"Buyers can not only purchase the item posted by clicking the buy now button - they can also share them across their own social network to other potential buyers," he said.

Any web page, such as a blog, that publishes feeds from Twitter or Facebook communities will provide visibility to posted items that can be purchased on the spot, according to company officials.
