Microsoft Dynamics GP Team Seeks Business Intelligence Dashboard Inspiration
When we asked Microsoft Dynamics GP director of product management Errol Schoenfish about his team's plans beyond the GP 2013 release, he discussed advancing the GP web client and developing new Windows 8 application functionality. Business Analyzer in Windows 8 has been GP's first foray into the world of apps, with access to SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) reports in a modern touch-based interface.
But what about Office 2013, and specifically, the de facto BI champion, Excel? GP product management has not ignored the possibilities here, as evidenced by a new blog post by product manager Pam Misialek titled "Business Intelligence Investigation".
The GP team has created some example reporting dashboards that pull GP data to a front end tool like Excel, and they want the community's feedback.
The example Misialek has posted is a good looking, refreshable financial dashboard designed for Excel 2013.
Here's a link to the file, it just needs to be hooked up to your own GP database to give you your own view of various KPIs, financial ratios, cash flow, and checkbook balances.
