The Microsoft Dynamics GP 2013 Technical Adoption Program Now On Tap

For Microsoft Dynamics GP partners, it's that time again-time to start nominating your customers for the Technology Adoption Program (TAP) for Dynamics GP 2013.

The Microsoft Dynamics GP Technical Account Preview Team is looking to select some candidates that accurately represent the Dynamics GP users to participate in the TAP program.

The team is looking for "enthusiastic participants with the resources and support which will allow them to successfully test, deploy, and provide feedback throughout the estimated two month cycle."

The Microsoft Dynamics GP beta project team will select candidates and notify customers during the first few weeks of July, 2012. The TAP program is set to begin in early September.

But take heed. Mark Polino, Principal Consultant at I.B.I.S. Inc., who is sure there will a lot of interest in the program, offers some words of caution.

Specifically:

  • If your current use of GP is a mess, if you can't balance and you can't close the month, don't try to become a TAP user. Concentrate on fixing your issues. A new version probably won't help;
  • If everyone is working more than 60 hours a week now, TAP is probably not a good fit. You'll need some time to really test stuff.

However, he says you might be a good fit for TAP if:

  • You're looking to deploy GP 2013 sooner rather than later;
