WPC 2011: Get the Most Out of Your Investment

by Raman Dhooria
Director - Digital, EY India, EY India

I have attended many partner and customer events and I can say with certainty that Worldwide Partner Conference (WPC) is really important if you answer yes to any of the following questions:

  • Do you want to expand beyond your current geography?
  • Do you want to develop partnerships with ISVs?
  • Does understanding of the product roadmaps and newest technologies make sense in era of disruption being led by cloud computing?

Who would say no to any of these questions? Still, there are number of partners who visit every year without deriving any ROI for their time and money spent on attending WPC.

The key to maximizing your experience lies in one word - plan.  Plan for the event - with more than 10,000 partners attending, you surely don't want to end up as one of many fighting for time with senior executives. Prepare well in advance for your time at the event. This is a once in a year opportunity to network with Microsoft executives, partner top managements, and ISVs.

So where should you start? Use your PAMs and partner leads to fix these important meetings. Your PAM is a great friend within the Microsoft Dynamics ecosystem. A lot of partners don't use them effectively for the event. After you have set up and run these meetings, don't forget to develop a follow up plan.

The following resources can help you navigate the event:
