MindQuad Launches NAVLite, Another New Web Client for Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2009 SP1
MindQuad Solutions, a Microsoft Dynamics NAV Partner based in Ahmedabad, India has launched NAVLite, a web client for Dynamics NAV 2009 SP1 and higher.
The announcement comes shortly after the disclosure of Stratus, which was announced last week by Fortempo. Like Stratus, the NAVLite web client uses web services to render native functionalities and business logic from Microsoft Dynamics NAV. The application has been tested on browsers including Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, Safari and Opera.
"I think it is a natural evolution that we see more light users getting access to the system now that the technology so elegantly supports this," said Jannik Bausager, director of product management for Microsoft Dynamics NAV, in response to the new web-base client announcements. "Currently there are no plans in our roadmap to offer a browser-based UI beyond what we will offer through the SharePoint integration in NAV '7'."
NAVLite went live on a recently completed implementation of Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2009 SP1, according to the company.
MindQuad says NAV Lite is designed to offer an alternative for users who require occasional access or repetitive access to limited functionality in Microsoft Dynamics NAV. For example, it could be used by managers who only need to view reports or give approvals as well as field sales and service personnel using devices like mobile phones, tablet PCs and netbooks that just support web browsers but no other client applications, according to company officials.
