In last week's announcement of the Dynamics CRM 2011 On-Premise software release completion, Microsoft also mentioned, without many details, some new benchmark statistics.  They noted that they had scaled a single instance of Dynamics CRM 2011 to 150,000 concurrent users but withheld other details, pending an upcoming white paper on the tests.

Today the Microsoft Dynamics CRM Blog revealed a few more details of the Dynamics CRM 2011 benchmarking.  The team said that the new tests on Dynamics CRM 2011 did in fact reach the level of 150,000 concurrent users with an average response time of .40 seconds.

Some details were also shared on the hardware. According to the blog post: "[w]e used a Dell R910 server with Intel Nehalem-EX processors and Pliant Technology SSDs for our SQL box. The Dell R910 server had Intel Xeon 7560 with 4 socket, 8 core, with Hyper-Threading enabled, 2.27 GHz and 256GB RAM."

In June 2009, a team from Microsoft and Intel announced it had tested a CRM 4.0 single instance to 50,000 concurrent users with hardware using Xeon 5500 series processors.

The full white paper detailing the configuration, hardware, data profile, topology, and test workload is due out in March.
