Ten ISV Products That Microsoft Should Buy and Incorporate into Dynamics GP
Microsoft Dynamics GP has a large, robust marketplace of independent software vendor (ISV) solutions designed to enhance the core product. With the recent downsizing going on across Microsoft, perhaps it's time to advance the product by acquisition again.
Microsoft has a long history of acquiring products designed to work with Dynamics GP and incorporating them into the ERP system. Fixed Assets, Banking and Field Service are all examples of products that were purchased and rolled into Dynamics GP and its predecessors over the years. With that thought in mind I've compiled my top 10 list of current ISV solutions that I think Microsoft should buy and roll into Dynamics GP.
- Config AD from FastPath - FastPath's Config AD allows single sign on to Dynamics GP by connecting GP's passwords to Active Directory. Administrators get a number of options to control the single sign on process and the ability to add users and manage security outside of Dynamics GP. This is a huge benefit for companies needing to integrate security with their IT group or those companies needing additional separation of duties with security. If Microsoft is not going to offer native Active Directory integration with Dynamics GP they really should just buy and integrate Config AD.
