Growing Sales and Profits for Veteran BI Firm as it Expands Microsoft Dynamics ERP Footprint
Despite the struggling economy, an award-winning software company offering out-of-the-box business intelligence for Microsoft Dynamics customers is continuing to rack up sales and profits.
Rockville, Md.-based Visual Mining recently announced that it has nearly doubled quarterly bookings compared to last year, chalked up a 21% increase in quarterly net income over the same period in 2009 and tallied its 38th consecutive profitable quarter.
Visual Mining, which faces competition in the Dynamics space from companies like TARGIT, Zap, and PrecisionPoint among many others, attributes its strong financials to the launch of its own NetCharts Performance product line 18 months ago as well as expansion of its channel and reseller partners and relationships with existing customers, primarily developers.
The venture-backed firm also racked up multiple honors this year. Visual Mining was included in Red Herring's Top 100 private companies. And American Business Awards recently chose Visual Mining's flagship NetCharts Performance Dashboard as 2010's best new product for the desktop/end user.
"There's no secret sauce," explains Mark Brandau, Visual Mining's vice president of marketing. "The industry has finally recognized what we are doing. We're glad they are catching on."
For most of its 14 years, Visual Mining operated under the radar because it sold its visualization and dashboard technology to giants like Oracle and IBM, who embedded Visual Mining's tools in its Hyperion and Tivoli suites, respectively.
Eighteen months ago, however, Visual Mining decided to market its technology directly to SMB companies and developers, and created its NetCharts Performance Dashboard suite.
