Technology management consulting firm Edgewater Technology Inc. (NASDAQ: EDGW) said it has acquired Microsoft Dynamics partner firm Fullscope Inc. for $12.5 million cash, plus additional payments via an earnout arrangement.

Fullscope specializes in providing discrete and process manufacturing ERP services for Dynamics AX users, and last September made news when it sold two add-on products to provide tight integration of business processes to Microsoft as part of the development of the corporation's verticals strategy for Dynamics products.

Fullscope, which has won several partner awards from Microsoft, provides technology consulting services and software as a National Systems Integrator with Microsoft throughout the United States and Canada. Its solutions are targeted at improving operational efficiencies, increasing the speed and flexibility of manufacturing operations and providing real-time insight into production processes. In addition to manufacturing, Fullscope has delivered its services to organizations in the consumer packaged goods and life sciences areas.

The acquisition by Microsoft of Fullscope AX add-ons announced in September includes provisions for payments to be made by Microsoft to Fullscope through June 25, 2011, the merger announcement stated. Excluding the add-ons, Fullscope generated approximately $12.6 million in annualized service revenue and $9.1 million of software resale revenue over the previous year.
