Clearing Hurdles and Easing Sales Life on the Road: New Tools Claim to Make Dynamics CRM 4.0 Truly Mobile

A hot topic at Convergence 2008 in Orlando earlier this month was mobile accessibility to the recently introduced Dynamics CRM 4.0.

Sales people in the field are increasingly demanding that their companies provide them with instant and ongoing access to the company-wide CRM so they can access customer information and make updates while the information is fresh in their minds, or on their PDAs/cell phones.

Two highly touted products at Convergence 2008 in Orlando earlier this month have now become available.

One is the latest version of CWR Mobile CRM, which is now fully compatible with Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0. It can be used for PDAs and so-called "Smart Phones" using Windows Mobile.

A Partner Technology Specialist in Microsoft's Small and Midmarket Solutions & Partners Group (SMS&P), Menno te Koppele, reports on his blog that "the feedback I got was nothing but great" from people who tried out the new version of CWR Mobile CRM 4.0. It can also be downloaded as a 30-day free trial for partners and end-users.

A second product presented at Convergence, MobileAccess v4.0, is being made available by TenDigits Software. It enables users to access and use MobileAccess® for Dynamics CRM 4.0 via Research in Motion and Windows Mobile supported devices, making it, according to the company, "the only complete mobility solution for Microsoft Dynamics across the two leading categories of smartphones."
