Des Moines, IA ,  April 8, 2013 -The Inaugural Dynamics GRC Day, an event organized by leaders in the security & audit industry, was a success. The event was held in New Orleans in conjunction with Microsoft Convergence, and brought together Dynamics users and partners, Microsoft and Audit firms to discuss topics related to governance, risk and compliance.

"We came up with the idea to hold Dynamics GRC Day 2013 because we wanted to give Dynamics users a road map to help them navigate audit preparation, and risk management" said Andy Snook, president of Fastpath. "To have open discussions between Dynamics users and partners, auditors and Microsoft about best practices in security, controls and compliance was invaluable for the attendees."

The attendees all faced similar challenges in their businesses and were able to get answers to help solve their problems. "I enjoyed meeting others with similar concerns and sharing approaches," said Poly Stevens, supervisor accounting projects, Gibson Energy.

Focusing on the event's theme - governance, risk and compliance - sessions were held on topics including: Implementing a Control Framework in a Microsoft Dynamics Environment, Native Controls in Microsoft Dynamics, Application Security Design from a Risk Management Perspective Best Practices, Control Optimization and a case study about GameStop, The World's Largest Video Game Retailer.

But according to survey results, the day's Town Hall was the most valuable session.  The attendees were able to ask questions to a panel of industry experts in a very comfortable environment. Not only were the experts sharing their insight on topics like segregation of duties and SOX compliance, the attendees were also helping each other solve problems.

"The speakers were exceptional with a lot of great insight," said Dave Wiser, controller, Tillamook County Creamery Association. "Equally valuable was the ability to share solutions with others who share common concerns."
