Where is Microsoft taking the Convergence events in 2015?

Attendees and exhibitors at last week's Convergence 2014 Europe event described it as worthwhile, but with room for improvements in terms of content and scale.

It's still uncertain whether a 2015 European Convergence is in the works. Microsoft did not announce anything before the end of last week's event and a spokesperson had no comment on whether they have committed to a 2015 event.  But last week's Barcelona event reportedly achieved one of its key goals - attracting a larger percentage of business decision makers. And that theme will continue to future Convergence events.

While IT-focused attendees have made up a large share of Convergence attendees historically, Microsoft is looking for both the event and its brand to shift toward a focus on business solutions. More specifically, the events will be designed to extend the conversation beyond Dynamics ERP and CRM, according to Wayne Morris, Microsoft Business Solutions (MBS) corporate vice president for marketing.

"[We want to] make it a Microsoft event for business people looking for business solutions and outcomes," Morris said in an interview. Executives for Microsoft Office and other products will become more involved, he said. "That's the evolution.
