A new book on the Microsoft Dynamics AX implementation process comes out this week. Written by veteran AX implementation specialists Yogesh Kasat of Real Dynamics and JJ Yadav of Ignify, Microsoft Dynamics AX Implementation Guide is an all-in-one guide to implementing Dynamics AX, from the project kickoff to go-live to upgrades.

The book identifies common implementation project pitfalls, with references to many real life experiences. It is intended for a broad audience, from IT project managers to solution architects to super users to consultants planning to implement AX.

"This book is all about simplifying the overall implementation process and increase the success of Dynamics AX projects," says Yogesh. The goal of the book, he says, is that readers will know how to plan and execute a Dynamics AX implementation project correctly on the first attempt.

The book is available to order on Amazon, Packt Publishing, and other major marketplaces, both as an e-book or a hard copy. A sample chapter on data migration is available on SlideShare. Data migration is a topic that is challenging and yet often overlooked in planning an AX implementation, says JJ. This chapter of the book explores data migration requirements, managing the data migration scope, identifying the tools and techniques for data migration, and data validation.

The authors also advocate for the role of conference room pilots (CRPs) in the implementation process.
