NAVUG Focus: An ERP Veteran Demystifies the Microsoft Dynamics NAV G/L

Enterprise software applications can be overwhelming to new users. But 17-year veteran of Navision and Microsoft Dynamics NAV Robb Delprado finds satisfaction in teaching users how to navigate their ERP solutions to the fullest potential.

For first-time users, navigating Dynamics NAV can be "like drinking water out of a fire hydrant," Delprado says. Users may overlook ways to simplify complicated transactions, such as setups behind the scenes. "If people have a better understanding of that, they will get more active information," he says.

He will present a session in the Finance track at NAVUG Focus 2016 called "Posting Groups in Microsoft Dynamics NAV," demystifying the complexities of general ledger (G/L) in Dynamics NAV.

Delprado is a natural to speak at the inaugural NAVUG Focus event. He has spoken four times at NAVUG Summit and also at Microsoft Convergence. He knows Dynamics NAV as a user in his role as president of Western Data Systems, a survey and construction equipment dealer for Texas and Oklahoma. On top of that, he is a certified public accountant (CPA) and chapter leader of the newly-formed Houston NAVUG chapter.

Delprado was there for the early days of enterprise software, and has watched it evolve from punch cards and two-year implementations to today's rapid ramp-ups and mobile interfaces.
