At NAVTechDays 2017, Dynamics NAV developers celebrate broader Microsoft tech landscape

Microsoft Dynamics NAV developers have just wrapped up their annual technical conference, NAVTechDays. From the outside, the event seemed to radiate its typical attendee enthusiasm thanks to its goal of putting NAV-related technology updates front and center for a change.

This year's event ran served as the concluding event in this year's autumn Dynamics conference calendar. A slew of other Dynamics ERP and CRM events have already set the baseline of expectations for Dynamics NAV 2018 and Dynamics 365 Tenerife in terms of product roadmap and overall technology plans. This year, the event featured deep dives into development topics that not only focused on NAV itself, but on technology that will support the NAV/Tenerife roadmap.

And it was that supporting technology - most of it Microsoft-based - that stood out. The new NAV API appeared to play a growing role in enabling the use of external services, but tweets we selected below demonstrate a range of topics that developers seem eager to explore, including Azure Functions, Office 365, Microsoft Graph, VSCode, Docker, PowerApps, and the Common Data Service.
